Clarity. Evidence. Accountability.

Editorial standards.

The principles behind how the Review presents evidence, attributes expertise, and communicates professional judgment.

Purpose of the Review

The PharmacoLegal Review™ is a professional publication of PharmacoLegal Consulting Services™. It explores medical communication, clinical evidence, and pharmacy-related analysis for readers who write, assess, or work with medical information.

It is an independent professional publication, not a peer-reviewed scholarly journal. Articles should be evaluated on their reasoning, sources, and clearly stated limits.

Authorship and qualifications

The publisher is identified on article pages. Public individual bylines, credentials, and reviewer attributions should identify the actual contributors and their relevant roles. Organizational attribution does not imply a multi-person editorial team or independent clinical review.

Professional biography and credential information are available privately to prospective clients during engagement discussions. Articles must not imply certifications, appointments, or experience that have not been substantiated.

Sources and interpretation

Clinical claims should be supported by relevant, identifiable references. Depending on the question, appropriate sources may include current prescribing information, original research, clinical guidance, and public-health resources.

Articles should distinguish a source’s findings from editorial interpretation, retain qualifications that affect meaning, and explain material uncertainty. A reference should support the statement attached to it; a long reference list does not establish that every conclusion is sound.

What review means

Medical copyediting, clinical content review, author-commissioned manuscript review, and journal peer review are distinct activities. A review description should explain the work actually performed.

No article should carry a “medically reviewed,” “independently reviewed,” or “peer-reviewed” designation unless that specific process occurred and the attribution is accurate. A targeted literature discussion should not be represented as a systematic review without methods that justify that description.

Examples, images, and clarity

Hypothetical examples should be recognizable as illustrations rather than reported patient cases or past client outcomes. Images and diagrams should support the subject without implying evidence, endorsement, or clinical results they do not establish.

Technical language should match the intended audience. Patient-facing explanations should preserve important clinical qualifications while making the message understandable.

Updates and corrections

Article pages display publication dates and, where applicable, revision dates. A date change alone does not establish a complete clinical re-review.

To raise a concern, identify the article, the statement in question, the reason for concern, and any supporting source. Material corrections should be explained on the affected article. Readers should be able to distinguish a substantive correction from a formatting change.

Services and disclosures

PharmacoLegal Consulting Services™ offers medical writing, clinical content review, focused research, and pharmaceutical consulting. Relevant service invitations may appear alongside articles. A commercial invitation is separate from the evidence supporting an editorial claim.

Sponsorship, paid placement, affiliate arrangements, or other material relationships should be disclosed clearly where they apply. No such arrangement should be inferred merely because a product or source is mentioned.

Professional boundaries

Publication content provides general educational and professional information. It does not establish a treatment relationship, a consulting engagement, or advice about an individual medical or legal matter.

Professional work requires an agreed scope. Please do not send sensitive patient records, confidential manuscripts, or privileged documents through a general inquiry without separately agreed arrangements.
