When the draft already exists

Clear copy still needs
supported claims.

A sentence can read well while saying more than its source supports. Clinical content review examines the meaning of the content, not only its grammar.

01

Medication content accuracy

Examine terminology, product context, numbers, benefit and safety wording, and relevant qualifications within the agreed subject area.

02

Reference & claim verification

Compare statements with their cited material and flag unsupported wording, missing context, source-access limits, and questions needing further evidence.

03

Clinical manuscript & educational review

Assess clinical statements, interpretation, audience clarity, and consistency across copy, tables, captions, and visuals when included in scope.

Sample review comment

From a vague comment
to a usable finding.

Illustrative example created by PCS; not client work.

Illustrative draft wording

“Every patient can expect the same benefit.”

Example context: a draft describes a study-group result as a promise to every patient.

A vague response would be: “Please clarify.”

A structured review comment

Location
Opening summary, paragraph 2.
Concern
The wording turns a group observation into a universal individual promise.
Source check
Confirm the population, measured outcome, timeframe, and limitations in the actual source.
Proposed action
Describe the supported finding and study group; remove the individual guarantee. If support is unavailable, remove the claim.
Status
Open—revised wording and evidence require recheck.

The comment gives the writer a specific reason to revise and a clear next action.

About the practice

Before you request a review

Before you request
a quote.

How is this different from copyediting?

Copyediting addresses language, consistency, and presentation. Clinical review examines relevant factual meaning, evidence support, and clinical context. A project may need both; specify the required work.

Can you review supplied references without a new literature search?

Yes, if the agreed assignment is limited to supplied material. A new search, broader evidence synthesis, or formal methodological appraisal is a separate scope decision.

Is manuscript review the same as journal peer review?

No. This service gives your team feedback on a draft. Journal peer review is arranged separately by the journal.

What happens after I inquire?

We follow up by email and offer a complimentary 15-minute project-fit call when useful. Your proposal sets out the review, fee, deadline, and revision checks. Work begins after approval and required payment.
